Kirstie & Coleman {Married} 2/22/14 at the home of Robert & Gina Pressley

Kirstie and Coleman were married 2/22/14 at the home of Robert & Gina Pressley, the groom’s parents. I received a facebook message just four short days before their wedding asking if I was available to photograph their special day and of course, I said YES. When Jennifer and I arrived, we felt right at home. You could feel the love among the family. With only close family and a few friends, Kirstie and Coleman were married at the gazebo right below the house. The part that truly touched me was when Coleman (the groom) said a prayer for the two of them during the ceremony. It was so sweet and heartfelt. I have to say I did tear up just a bit. Kirstie wore some beautiful accessories the day of the wedding, one being her gown, which her mom gave her. Gina, Coleman’s mom, gave Kirstie her earrings which were Kirstie’s favorite symbol, the forever symbol. The hankerchief you see in the bouquet was Kirstie’s great grandmothers and her nana gave her the bracelet she wore. Kirstie and Coleman dated in high school for two years and then reunited a year ago. The song played at the ceremony was “It feels like home to me”. Scripture was read during the ceremony. All in all, it was a great start for weddings 2014. I would like to thank you both for allowing Jennifer and I the opportunity to photograph your special day. Praying God blesses both of you and sweet Maci and gives you many long and happy years together!!

Heather & Chris {Married} | August 31, 2013, Asheville, NC Wedding Photographer

I had the privilege of covering Heather & Chris special wedding day at The Venue in downtown Asheville on August 31st. We had a hoot shooting some preliminary shots of the ladies at the Asheville Renaissance and Jennifer Jones (my assistant/friend) covering the guys. Heather and Chris were married by Heather’s grandfather, Reverend Lance. It was a sweet, simple ceremony with a fabulous sit down dinner at The Venue following the union with Heather and her two brothers performing a special dance number by the Sugarhill Gang Apache (Jump on it). I would like to thank the following who made their day so special!!

Ceremony Site – The Venue
Wedding Director – Jennifer Burnette
Assistant Photographer – Jennifer Jones
Wedding Cake and Cupcakes – Cakes by Amy Tucker
Floral Design – Becky’s Florist, Leicester, NC

The following, in Heather’s words, are how Heather & Chris met.
So this is our story….
It was my first day working at The Rush and one of the managers that’s Chris, who was only filling in for another manager at the time, comes up and introduces himself to me. I didn’t really think anything of it, just thought he was a nice guy. A few weeks after that it was Halloween and The Rush was having a Halloween party and Chris and other managers came to the Patton club all dressed up and Chris invited me to the Halloween party,(he was flirting with me) lol, but I didn’t go! Lol so after meeting him a few times I asked him to be my friend on Facebook (he will tell you I stalked him- so not true) then we just started talking on Facebook more and just getting to know each other, and after Chris got moved to the Patton ave club he asked me out on our first date to the Christmas play at
Biltmore Baptist and afterwards we ate at Green Tea Restaurant, and the rest is pretty much history. 3 years later we are getting married! :)

Karah & Chris {Married} 8-3-13 | Asheville, NC Wedding Photographer

I had the privilege of photographing Karah & Chris beautiful wedding on August 3, 2013. They were married at the First Methodist Church in Marion, NC. They were ALL such a fun group to photograph as you can see in many of the photos. In Karah’s words, this is how they met….”We went to high school together and worked together but didn’t start dating until after he graduated high school and had left town for college. We both went to Western Carolina University where our love grew and we grew into adults together. We dated for almost 6 years before he proposed. He proposed on May 29,2013. He took me for a hike on Frying Pan Mountain. We hiked up to the fire tower and went up high enough on the tower to see all around because its beautiful up there. We were surrounded by the beauty of nature that God has created and he then got down on one knee and ask me to be his wife.” I wish you two much happiness and a long and happy marriage!

LeAnn & Jimmie {Married} – Trust, North Carolina | St. Jude’s Chapel of Hope

LeAnn and Jimmie were married April 20, 2013, at 1pm at the St. Jude’s Chapel of Hope in Trust, North Carolina. LeAnn found me on Craig’s list and we conversed via email for several months before the wedding. I never even knew there was a town called Trust until she contacted me. This chapel is nestled right in a valley with mountains surrounding it. It’s peaceful with a stream running right behind the chapel. The ceremony was touching and emotional with the most heartfelt words said to one another. Here is the story (in Jimmie’s words) behind why they picked this special spot for their nuptials.

“This is the story of how me and Leann met, also the story of the
chapel goes.. My friend’s mom owned a cabin across the mountain from the
small chapel. We would go to this cabin on the weekends with his family and
enjoy the change of pace. So I knew about the chapel and told my friend that
“I would totally get married in that small church”. Fast-forward 13 years
and I was telling LeAnn about the cabin and this beautiful little chapel to
which I googled a picture to show her. She saw it and fell in love with it!
She said “that’s where I want to get married”. So we did :)

And here is the story in LeAnn’s words….

“Jimmie and I met at lunch with a group of friends after church. Jimmie sat
across from me and we started talking about our interests. We are both
interested in the outdoors; him and a friend invited me to later go
kayaking. After the kyaking trip we started hanging out more as friends and
getting to know each other. He became my best friend and naturally my
boyfriend. Approximately a year and a half later we went on a medical
mission trip to Honduras. The last day, we took a trip to the Mayan ruins in
the city of Copan, where he proposed to me on top of one of the temples. Two
days after we had gotten back from Honduras, Jimmie received notice at work
that he was being reassigned to Elmendorf Air Force Base in Anchorage,
Alaska. We leave for Alaska July 1 and will be stationed there for 3-4
years. Most importantly, God brought us together and He is what keeps us together.

After the wedding, we made our way to the cabin at “The Farm” in Candler, NC, where we finished up some special moments with just the two of them. The family then went to dinner afterwards. A special thank you to Peter for your contribution of captured moments. Thank you both for letting me be a part of your special day. I pray you have a lifetime full of memories and love!!

Tam + Michael = LOVE | Biltmore Lake, NC

I love LOVE!!! I met up with Tam & Michael a few weeks ago at Biltmore Lake to capture their engagement photos. I’ve known Tam a while (we went to church together), but met Michael for the first time. Instantly, I could feel the love between them. They were stinkin hilarious with Michael cracking jokes the entire time. I included at the very end of this set a blooper. I’m looking forward to capturing their wedding this Saturday (my first 2013 wedding). I wish you two happiness and a lifetime of making memories.
