Craggy Gardens Elopement | Lisa & Brad | Asheville Elopement Photographer

This was my first time hiking up to the top of the pinnacle at Craggy Gardens and my second elopement I've had the pleasure of photographing.  I first met Lisa & Brad at a private residence in East Asheville to photograph some detail/getting ready shots and then we all drove out to the picnic area at Craggy Gardens for the elopement.  We all hiked up the mountain to a small wooden gazebo with a gorgeous view of the mountains.  They had their ceremony there followed by a sweet prayer and a kiss.  We then walked down the trail and drove up the parking lot near the pinnacle.  Everyone changed their dress shoes to hiking boots and then we all made our way up to the top of the pinnacle stopping along the way to get some cool shots.  The views were gorgeous and breathtaking when we reached the top.  It was definitely worth the hike.

Fun facts about their day:

Lisa walked all the way up to the gazebo in her 4 inch heels (yes, I was amazed)

Lisa walked down from the gazebo in her son's socks in the mud (can I say super laid back bride)

The minister carried my camera gear for me up and down from the gazebo (super nice)

Brad swore it was just a "short walk" up to the gazebo (15 minutes later)...and I told him I should have charged him more (truth)

I couldn't have asked for a sweeter family to spend my Saturday with.  You guys were awesome to work with and I hope you enjoy your photos as much as I enjoyed meeting all of you!!  Many thanks to all of the vendors who made their day the best!!

Julie + David | Married | The Fields of Blackberry Cove | Weaverville Wedding Photographer

This was one of the hottest days of the summer and when we arrived at The Fields of Blackberry Cove, the power was out.  A line had been hit down the road and it knocked out power to the entire venue.  But this didn't stop everyone from having a great time.  We improvised.  We started with all the detail shots and there were a ton.  Did I mention I love shooting details!!  When the power came back on Sandi finished getting Julie's hair done and we were off to do group shots of the bridal party.  Julie looked stunning in her dress as she walked down the path to the open field toward the huge tree outside where the ceremony site was.  For a moment, David closed his eyes and then saw his bride for the first time.  I think we truly captured their love through photos.  Thank you to all the vendors who made their wedding day a success and to Julie & David, thank you for choosing me to document your special day!!  Here are a few of my favorites from their wedding day!!

Brooke + Michael Wedding | Macedonia Baptist Church | Asheville Wedding Photographer

Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies.

The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil.

She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life.

Proverbs 31: 10-12

I met Brooke and her mom a little over a year and a half ago when they first started wedding planning.  I noticed right away the quiet meek spirit Brooke had along with a genuine kindness. A few months later I met Michael and Brooke at Biltmore for their engagement session and couldn't help but see the strong love and compassion they had for each other.

I don't think I've ever photographed a wedding where the entire church was filled to capacity with friends and family with standing room only.  I grew up in a small country church and I know the close ties you have with your church family.  What was even more special was, Brooke's grandfather married Michael and Brooke.  What a special moment that will never be forgotten.  I must say I cry at almost every wedding I photograph, but especially at this one because the tears flowed down on Brooke & Michael's face as they saw each other for the first time.

Thank you both for choosing me to document your special day!  It was truly a pleasure serving you both.  I wish you joy, happiness and a love and closeness that only God can give you both.

Love & Prayers,  Tracy

Emilee + Andrei | Sky Mountain Events | Asheville Wedding Photographer

I met this sweet couple the first time when I photographed their engagement photos at the Biltmore Estate.   Sometimes you meet a couple and you feel like you've made friends forever. This is how I felt with Emilee & Andrei.  Their wedding took place at the beautiful Sky Mountain Events literally ten minutes from my home and talk about a view.  Oh my goodness!!  The view was INCREDIBLE!!  It was a sunny day filled with close family and friends who gathered to celebrate their marriage.  As Emilee walked down the hill accompanied by her father, the tears started flowing.  The vows they said to one another were so beautiful.  After the ceremony and photos, they headed back to their home town in Tennessee for the reception.  Thank you both for choosing me to document your wedding day.  You were a joy to spend time with.  I wish you many blessings on your marriage!!

Provencher Family | Sanford, Maine | Maine Family Photographer

I met this lovely family while visiting my family in Sanford, Maine.  I guess I should say, my dad hooked me up.  He said, "I need to call this lady and see if she would like some family photos made".   My dad loves to work on lawnmowers and had recently sold Cassandra a lawnmower and thought of them.  I'm so glad he made the call.  I want to say this is such a lovely family and these kids, they could seriously all be models.  They were the sweetest kids and so friendly especially to someone they had just met.  We met in a field right down the road from the families house and then went back to my brother and sister-n-law's house to finish up the session, which of course included petting the goats.  It was great meeting your lovely family.  I hope to see you again real soon when I make it back up to the great state of Maine!!

Sherrie + Scott | Peddledash Farm | Fairview Wedding Photographer

Sherrie & Scott were married in front of their six closest friends at a beautiful private home in Fairview, NC, called Pebbledash Farms.  As you enter the property, you drive through a row of tall trees that are absolutely gorgeous.  The house was beautiful inside and outside with a perfectly manicured lawn, a fantastic outdoor space and a beautiful bridge over the water with mountain views.  Who could ask for a more perfect place to get married.  Sherrie & Scott decided to do a "first look" on the bridge, just an intimate moment between the two.  I then photographed the couple and after talking with them realized they were from Lakeland, Florida, my home town.  Crazy small world!  Next up was their ceremony where Sherrie was escorted by her best friend to the perfect little tree right by the bridge.  They both wrote their vows to one another which were sincere and heartfelt.  The ceremony was then followed by group shots and an evening catered dinner outside by Bake My Day along with yummy deserts.

Thank you both for allowing me to document your wedding.  I loved meeting you both and wish you both a lifetime of happiness and love forever!!

Emily + Scott | Lake Tomahawk Wedding

Emily and Scott are originally from Florida, but wanted a mountain wedding and they chose Lake Tomahawk to have their ceremony.  They rented two lovely houses in Swannanoa at High Country Retreat, one for the guys to get ready in and one for the girls to get ready in.  When I arrived at the ladies house, the house was completely decorated with flowers and sentiments of love everywhere around the house along with photos of the couple and their daughter in every room.  We all knew rain was on the way, but Emily was prepared with each bridesmaid having their own rain boots and umbrellas ready in case it did rain.  That was a good call, because it rained a lot especially during the ceremony, but the whole group made the best out of the day.  On the way back to the house for the reception, the heavy rain turned into drizzling rain and we were able to get group shots of the entire wedding party along with the bride and groom.  You guys were great to work with and so easy going.  Thank you for letting me be a part of your day.  Here are a few of my very favorites!!

Karah + Chris + Baby Quentin | Biltmore Maternity Session

A few years ago, I photographed this sweet couples wedding and now they are having their first baby.  Karah got in touch with me via email for a maternity session.  Karah & Chris are such a fun loving couple, always laughing.  We decided to meet at Biltmore for their session.  We enjoyed walking around the gardens and they brought some awesome props including some cute little onsies and of course, Quetin's first Easter basket.  It was great to see both of you!!! Best wishes on this next stage in life, parenting.  Here are a few of my very favorite images from their session.
