Biltmore Estate | Emma Grace | Asheville Senior Portrait Photographer

Emma was a joy to photograph and had some super cute outfits for her Biltmore senior portrait session.  I love the fact that she included her metal she received for Distinguished Young Women in some of the photos.  i believe my favorites were the last ones of Emma in the field.  The sun going down at the end of the session was awesome.  Thank you Emma for choosing me to photograph this special time in your life.  Here are my favorites from her senior portrait session.

Biltmore Couple Session | Kendra + Avery + Buttercup | Asheville, NC

Well after two tries with the weather not cooperating, we were finally able to photograph this lovely couple along with Buttercup, Kendra's fur baby, at Biltmore Estate.  They kept me laughing constantly and I had to really work with Avery on smiling, but by the end he was a pro.  Here are my favorites from their couple session at Biltmore!!

Biltmore Estate Sunflower Session | Asheville Portrait Photographer

When the flowers are blooming at the Biltmore Estate, it's any excuse for a photographer to grab someone and take their photos.  That's what I did with Trinity.  We met on a Tuesday afternoon and took some photos in the flower garden, the sunflower fields and ended up with some pretty sweet pics with her new cheerleading outfit.  She starts this year as a varsity for Pisgah High School (my old alma mater)  GO BEARS!!  Here are a few of my favorites from her session and of course, the sunflower shots are my FAV!!

Karah + Chris + Baby Quentin | Biltmore Maternity Session

A few years ago, I photographed this sweet couples wedding and now they are having their first baby.  Karah got in touch with me via email for a maternity session.  Karah & Chris are such a fun loving couple, always laughing.  We decided to meet at Biltmore for their session.  We enjoyed walking around the gardens and they brought some awesome props including some cute little onsies and of course, Quetin's first Easter basket.  It was great to see both of you!!! Best wishes on this next stage in life, parenting.  Here are a few of my very favorite images from their session.

Audrey Hollifield | Asheville Senior Photographer | Class of 2016

Meet Audrey....She's gorgeous, kind, sweet, caring, soft spoken, and most importantly, loves the Lord!!  I first photographed Audrey around 7 years ago.  I was just beginning to shoot and we had the best time galavanting around Black Mountain and now she's graduating high school.   What an accomplishment.  Thank you so much for choosing me to photograph your beautiful self at Biltmore Estate.  I wish you only the very best in the future....love you girl!!

Shane & Erica | Proposal at Biltmore Estate | Asheville Engagement Photographer

Erica had no idea that Shane would be proposing to her on their visit to the Biltmore Estate.  Shane had found my website on the internet and had gotten in touch with me a few weeks before to plan the surprise.  Erica was very busy getting different people to take their pictures with the house in the background.  Shane finally had to stop her and said, "I need to talk to you for a minute".  The crowd around watched as Shane got down on one knee and asked Erica to marry him.  Of course, she said YES!!!  We then went all around the estate capturing their engagement photos.  Thank you both for choosing me to photograph your special moments and your engagement photos.  It was great meeting you both!! Come back and visit Asheville soon!!

Biltmore Engagement Photographer/Katie & Peter/Engaged

My first engagement session at Biltmore Estate couldn't have been any better.  I met the most wonderful couple, Katie & Peter, for a surprise engagement session.  Peter and I had emailed back and forth prior to their special day about where they would be at the time I would meet them and where he had planned to propose. Katie & Peter had been discussing the design of a ring, but she had no idea when or where the actual proposal might take place.  They had visited Biltmore Estate last summer and Katie loved it!!  Peter first read a beautiful letter he had written for Katie and then got down on one knee (so romantic) and proposed to Katie. Honestly, I think I was more nervous than Peter was.

This is, in Peter's words, how they met..."Katie and I met online while I was in the Marine Corps stationed in Camp LeJeune, NC. She was living in Charlotte, NC at the time attending UNC Charlotte working for her Masters in Economics. When I got out, I moved up to Virginia to work on my Bachelors degree in Aeronautics at Liberty University. Katie decided to look into Masters programs at Liberty and found the Masters in Public Health. Now we both live in Lynchburg, VA attending Liberty University. We are getting married in Sacramento, CA in June of 2016!"

The ring he proposed with is special because Katie & Peter designed this ring together several months ago and the center stone is a family heirloom on his side of the family. It's a hand cut diamond that was cut no later than the late 19th century and it is certainly stunning.  Thank you so much for letting me be a part of such an awesome moment between the two of you!!  I'll never forget it!!
