Savannah + Mike | Trinity Baptist Church | Asheville Wedding Photographer

Savannah and Mike were married on May 23rd in the beautiful chapel at Trinity Baptist Church by Dr. Ralph Sexton, Jr., her Pastor and Granddaddy.  This wedding was special to me as I have so many connections to these people and this place.  I have known Savannah most of her life and was so very honored that she asked me to photograph one of the most special days in a couples life.

After some morning showers, we were blessed with a beautiful afternoon which allowed for outdoor photographs by the huge willow tree.  This day would not have been possible without the incredible vendors that put together a flawless day from start to finish.  Thank you all for making their day amazing!!

Anna + Chad | Four M Acres Events | Asheville Wedding Photographer

Anna & Chad were married by Chad's grandfather at the beautiful Four M Acres Events in Leicester on May 5th.  Anna had everything ready for us to start shooting details right when we arrived.  Her colors were a beautiful palette of blush, greens and navy blue.  There was a quick rain shower and then everyone grabbed some paper towels, dried off the seats, and we were able to proceed with the ceremony.  This was my first time photographing a wedding at this venue and I would have to say BJ & Melisa did a phenomenal job with hosting and catering.  The food was awesome!!

What I love about Anna & Chad is that they are super sweet and genuine.  They were a joy to spend the day with and I wish the two of them a lifetime of happiness and blessings!  It was hard to narrow down the blog post because there were SO many awesome images from their day so here are a few of my favorites.  Thank you to all of the incredible vendors who made their day FABULOUS!!  You guys ROCK!!  A huge thank you to Paige Broome for assisting me!!

Chris + Chase | Winter Destination Elopement | The Barn at Honeysuckle Hill

Chris & Chase were married at the gorgeous venue, The Barn at Honeysuckle Hill, on the last day of 2017.  It was a cold morning mixed with a little bit of light falling snow.  I met the couple first at the Omni Grove Park Inn where we captured some detail shots and couple shots then we all headed to the venue for the elopement.  Surrounded by close family and friends, the couple was married by Katrina Evans from Destination Elopements and then enjoyed a sweet reception with an Oreo cookie cake made by her sister-n-law.   It was great meeting you two!!  A huge thank you to all the wonderful vendors who made their day PERFECT.

Full Gospel Christian Fellowship Wedding | Kelly + Johnathan | Waynesville Wedding Photographer

I love small beautiful church weddings and this one was filled to capacity with family and friends for the wedding of Kelly & Johnathan.  The couple had written letters to each other prior to their vows and we got to witness those special moments.  I think I was most impressed with how the fellowship hall was decorated with a complete floral backdrop for the bride and groom's table.  Kelly looked absolutely stunning in her gorgeous wedding dress that fit her perfect escorted by her dad.  The look on Johnathan's face as she walked down the aisle was priceless.  After the vows we were able to find a small patch of bamboo right beside the church for some intimate couple portraits.  Then it was on the reception where Kelly & Johnathan did a choreographed first dance and one with her father following.  So much love in one room!! I would like to thank the couple for choosing me to document their day and a huge thank you to the incredible vendors who helped make their day a fairy tale wedding!!   Here are a few of my very favorite images from their wedding day!!

The Altamont Theatre | Barbra + Wade | Asheville Wedding Destination Photographer

The day began with Barbra & Wade getting ready at a beautiful two story house located on French Broad Avenue.  The setting was super laid back with their family and closest friends enjoying the day together.  After we had taken most of the details shots, the couple along with their wedding party, got on the Gray Line Trolley for a tour around downtown Asheville.  Their wedding was held at The Altamont Theatre.  The setting was absolutely gorgeous with the glow of candles and twinkling lights, just about as romantic as you can get.  Barbra handled every detail perfectly from the wooden name place settings and menus to the perfect little "to go" dessert boxes with a personalized sticker with their name and wedding date on it.

Thank you Barbra & Wade for choosing me to document your wedding day and for trusting us to do what we love the most, photographing couples who are madly in love!!

I had such a great time in Waynesville, NC, celebrating these two.  It was an incredible day filled with lots of joy! You could just tell that these two were surrounded by many who truly loved them.  Laurel Ridge Country Club never disappoints.  The views are spectacular, the staff is always helpful and there are so many opportunities for photos.  It's definitely a win win.  My favorite spot is at the top of the mountain on the property where we take just the bride and groom for couple portraits.  Anna & Ryan, you were both a joy to work with and I absolutely loved spending the day with friends and family.  I wish you both a lifetime of happiness and lots of love!!  Check out how gorgeous their day was at the beautiful Laurel Ridge Country Club!!

These two were a joy to work with along with their family.  Sarah looked absolutely gorgeous in her lace short-sleeved wedding dress and I loved getting all the detail shots with her favorite perfume and those shoes, who doesn't love flat comfortable lacy shoes on their wedding day?  Daniel & Sarah walked in together right after their bridesmaids and groomsmen and they had a sweet ceremony surrounded by close family and friends.  The weather was perfect with no rain and a gorgeous view of the mountains in the background.  A special thank you to Kella Cox who was able to come and do Sarah's hair and make-up last minute!!

So excited to share my favorites from Karlie & Adam's wedding at the Chapel of Trinity Baptist Church.  Karlie looked stunning in her David's bridal dress and the whole wedding party was so much fun to photograph.  My favorite part was seeing the look on Adam's face as Karlie walked down the aisle.  Priceless!!!  Many thanks to all who made their day so special!!

Good News Baptist Church | Kendall + Nick | Asheville Wedding Photographer

Who doesn't love a good LOVE story?  I DO!!!  These two are the kindest people you will ever meet, seriously and genuinely in love with God and each other.  The day started off with the bridal party getting ready at the Buffalo Creek Vacation Cabins in Clyde and then we all headed to the church for some photographs of the bridal party and detail shots before the wedding began.  Here is how they met in Kendall's words....

"I began writing prayers and letters to my future husband when I was 18 years old. After a while of writing them, God placed it on my heart to give these letters to my husband on our wedding day. Not knowing my husbands name, I addressed them to "My tough and tender warrior", because I felt God telling me that's the kind of man I would marry. A couple years went by, and our wedding day was quickly approaching, so Nick's dad restored a wooden box that has been passed down from generations past in his family for me to put the letters, as well as my purity/promise ring in it to give Nick on our wedding day.  His dad, his best man, presented it to him the night before our wedding.

We met at Biltmore Church through college group and school bible studies, but really connected on a missions trip to Guatemala City and began dating shortly after.  I first began a deep friendship with him during the summer of 2015, and the week we connected in Guatemala I knew I wanted to marry him. The rest is history!"

Madelynn + Josh | Jeter Mountain Farm | Hendersonville Wedding Photographer

Get ready for blog post OVERLOAD.  Seriously guys, when you've been asked by your photographer/friend Melissa McElrath to photograph her soon to be sister-n-laws wedding, you over shoot and boy am I glad we did.  What an honor to be asked by another photographer to photograph this special event. So get ready for the LARGEST blog post EVER.

Madelynn & Josh were married at Jeter Mountain Farm June 26, 2017, in an outdoor ceremony overlooking the mountains.  What a gorgeous venue.  This was my first time shooting at this lovely place.  The indoor and outdoor space was ta die for.  What Madelynn didn't know when I arrived was that Melissa had arranged for not only me to shoot, but Julia to shoot and do video of their wedding.  She surprised her with that as you'll see in the photos below.  I feel so honored that this couple entrusted me to capture their day along with Melissa and Julia.

When I first arrived at the farm, I first noticed the beautiful outdoor space and how large the inside of the reception site was and very open. The ladies had plenty of room to have hair and make-up done on the upper level.  As soon as we were done photographing the detail shots, we got ready for the first look between Josh & Madelynn.  As you can see in the photos, Josh was clearly happy to see his beautiful bride. The dress Madelyn picked out was absolutely GORGEOUS and fit perfectly.  What I loved about their wedding was that they decided to include their first communion together during their wedding.  Their vows were filled with words of commitment to each other and to their heavenly father who brought their lives together.  When the ceremony ended we did family shots and then walked down the mountain to this gorgeous tree farm area and where we did couple shots of Madelynn and Josh.  This was my FAVORITE spot.  Next up was the reception where this family knows how to throw a party complete with a live DJ, photo booth and lots of yummy food.  For a day, I felt like part of their family. Everyone was so gracious and so easy to work with and that I am grateful for.

Thank you Madelynn & Josh for choosing me to document your wedding day!!  May the Lord bless you and keep you close in your new life as husband and wife and may he grant you all of life's blessings and love's joys.  xoxo

Shelby + Josh | Broyhill Chapel | Mars Hill Wedding Photographer

Shelby & Josh were married in a beautiful ceremony at the Broyhill Chapel located in Mars Hill, NC, by Josh's grandfather.  The chapel was beautiful inside with gorgeous stained glass and lots of natural light.  I first met Shelby at a cute little home in Leicester where I photographed the details and where Josh & Shelby had their "first look".  I love intimate moments between a couple, just the two of them and of course (me) photographing the groom seeing his gorgeous bride for the first time.  Those are special moments!!  After the first look, I photographed the two of them and then we headed to the chapel for the bridal party shots and then the ceremony started.  The two of them took their first communion together which was so special and read their very own vows they had written to each other.  I absolutely LOVED all the details on their wedding day and the flowers were ummmm GORGEOUS...Such a relaxed atmosphere and laid back.

Thank you Shelby & Josh for choosing me to document your wedding day and thank you to the wonderful vendors who worked so hard to make memories for the couple

Whitney + James | Locust Grove Baptist Church | Weaverville Wedding Photographer

These two quiet souls were married in a beautiful, heartfelt ceremony at their home church, Locust Grove

Baptist Church in Weaverville July 29, 2017.  The love and support for these two was very evident by all the church family and friends who gathered for their special day.  I think the one thing that got me on their day was seeing Jame's face as his bride walked down the aisle.  I love it when a groom tears up during the ceremony.  Another cool thing was Whitney's parent's flower girl and ring bearer were there also (all grown up). I want to say thank you to Whitney and James for choosing me to document your wedding day.  May God bless your beautiful union!!

Craggy Gardens Elopement | Lisa & Brad | Asheville Elopement Photographer

This was my first time hiking up to the top of the pinnacle at Craggy Gardens and my second elopement I've had the pleasure of photographing.  I first met Lisa & Brad at a private residence in East Asheville to photograph some detail/getting ready shots and then we all drove out to the picnic area at Craggy Gardens for the elopement.  We all hiked up the mountain to a small wooden gazebo with a gorgeous view of the mountains.  They had their ceremony there followed by a sweet prayer and a kiss.  We then walked down the trail and drove up the parking lot near the pinnacle.  Everyone changed their dress shoes to hiking boots and then we all made our way up to the top of the pinnacle stopping along the way to get some cool shots.  The views were gorgeous and breathtaking when we reached the top.  It was definitely worth the hike.

Fun facts about their day:

Lisa walked all the way up to the gazebo in her 4 inch heels (yes, I was amazed)

Lisa walked down from the gazebo in her son's socks in the mud (can I say super laid back bride)

The minister carried my camera gear for me up and down from the gazebo (super nice)

Brad swore it was just a "short walk" up to the gazebo (15 minutes later)...and I told him I should have charged him more (truth)

I couldn't have asked for a sweeter family to spend my Saturday with.  You guys were awesome to work with and I hope you enjoy your photos as much as I enjoyed meeting all of you!!  Many thanks to all of the vendors who made their day the best!!
